CHARITY PROJECT
CAMBODIAN CHILD'S DREAM ORGANIZATION (CCDO)
ANGKOR CLEAN WATER PROJECT
Angkor Clean Water Project : is one of the project of Cambodian Child's Dream Organization is a non-profit and non political organization, licensed by Ministry of Interior of Cambodia, which is founded by PANHA OU, the director of Amazing Angkor Travel and Tours.
During the long civil war in Cambodia occurred more than three decades last 20 years especially in Khmer Rouge Pol Pot Genocide Regime from 1975-1979, the country management system was completely disrupted. It was a brutal dictatorial period which killed two millions Cambodians (25% of the population); most people lost their families and it is the cause of poverty in Cambodia until today.
Even thought, the Cambodian Government has been working hard to improve health, life expectancy and education. People in many rural areas can not afford to build toilet, water wells and have no enough money to buy school stationery for their children.
We, Amazing Angkor Tours consider the assistance to all those poor families and school children and we realize that it is a part of our obligation in society. Hence, we actively participate and contribute 10% of our monthly profit to help them in their education, improving life expectancy and health.
Panha Ou was born in one rural area of Cambodia called Chikreng District which is located 65Km East of Siem Reap. He lived in plight and had not enough money, school stationery and time to study (He helped their parents in farming and selling boiled sweet potato, banana cakes and candy to make money). Moreover, he also lost his aunts, uncles, brothers, sisters and cousins in Pol Pot Regime. In lifestyle as farming boys till 17 years old, he had never experienced the taste of pure water. His drinking water was taken from the pond and river which were located around 2Km from their village. The unclean water is the source of daily diarrhea, monthly malaria and other serious illness. The poor and low education of their parents is heavily influential and closely involved to this case.
However, Panha had a strong commitment to study until successfully graduated high school diploma. A few months later, they found the appropriate jobs and were able to support themselves and their parents' living condition.
Because of the unpleasant experience in hard living condition has prompted them a deeply love to their deprived nationals and they realized that it was their time to help their lovely poor people in improving their living conditions, health and life expectancy.
After a useful comment and motivation from some foreign tour leaders and business partners, he suddenly decided to use his years of experience, knowledge and some existent assets to establish a Travel Agent called Amazing Angkor Tours. Only then, could he maked it possible to realize their vision of helping others.

“It has been my pleasure to work with Mr. Ou Panha and his team (Marida, Lim, and Leng Ngim and other staffs) to raise awareness for the plight of the Cambodian people who are in desperate need of clean water and funds to help educate the children in the rural areas. I have found that his honesty and efficiency in building the water wells helps make this grassroots effort such an outstanding success. It is amazing to see the photos of happy faces once the water wells are constructed. Mr. Panha works tirelessly to help his fellow Cambodians and promptly answers all correspondence. I look forward to continued support of the Cambodian Child's Dream Organization”. |
